Guidance
The theme for the guidance program this year is:
EES STUDENTS, MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE !
Students at Elba Elementary School will continue with the Character Counts! program. The program is a nationally recognized character education framework that incorporates Character Education into all facets of the daily routine of the school. The program stresses Six Pillars of Character:
- Trustworthiness
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Fairness
- Caring
- Citizenship
Contact: Anna Marie Moore

Students who demonstrate in word or deed each of the six pillars of character will become members of the "TIGERS WITH CHARACTER" club. These students will have their names announced over the intercom, have their pictures in the "Elba Clipper" and will have their pictures on the special "Tigers with Character" wall. Prizes will be awarded to each student and certificates will be given at the end of the year.
Also this year, as an added focus on Citizenship, Elba Elementary School will begin a recycling program. A grant from ADEM will fund the project. Recycling bins will be purchased and will be placed in each classroom. In cooperation with the City of Elba, city workers will pick up the recycled items. The Coffee County Cooperative Extension service will assist in developing training materials for our teachers and students.
